Global Running Day is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages everyone to get moving. This day plays an important role, reminding us of the positives that running can offer and the power of unification. All are welcome.  Membership in Twin City Track Club is not required to participate.

This weekly workout is geared for those training to run the Ultimate Runner event later in June. Join us at the Hanes Park Track to run any or all of the 5 planned events beginning promptly at 6 pm.  Distances are 1 Mile, 400 meters, 800 meters, 100 meters and a 5K XC run (see next item). We’ll move it along quickly to keep on schedule.

TCTC Hill Loop

This is one of the most, well, notorious group runs in Winston-Salem, and has been a weekly feature on the TCTC calendar since the late 1980s. Join us in the tennis court parking lot across from the William White YMCA and enjoy the scenery on some of our favorite hills, like Hellington, Torkshire, Pain Valley, Transformer, and Monument!

The Hill Loop tends to draw intermediate to advanced runners. On the climbs, push yourself as hard as you dare, it's up to you; don't worry, we re-group at the top. In the between-hill recovery sections, we typically average an 8-8:30ish pace. The route covers 9 miles with 12-13 hill climbs, depending on who's counting, though with a sufficient excuse you can shorten the course to 6 miles by going back at the first water stop (water is available at the 3- and 6-mile points).

We normally finish a little past 7pm. Be forewarned, to achieve a (virtual) finisher's medal, you must slap the Stop sign at the official end of the course at the corner of Glade and Sunset. Don't let your effort be negated! 😊
